"David, we all agree that our Amazon adventure was spectacular from all points of view. The organization was good, as well as the guys who accompanied us. The river people covered all our expectations. We are very happy with you. You gave us advices and details that marked the difference! You are a recommendable guide and in fact, I have given your email to several clients that are enthusiastic with my stories.

"To Prospective Clients of David Rios:
I’d like to share my experiences of having David Rios as my jungle guide on two 2 different occasions in 2010 and 2013. Among activities we did were birdwatching, canoeing on the Amazon, night hikes, plant id hikes, a trip to see giant water lilies, visits to local Amazon River residents, and fishing. I found David to be extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Amazon Jungle, which he grew up in. He cares deeply about the jungle and the river, and plants and animal living there, and his passion flows through his presentations to visitors. David hopes to help each visitor, from all countries of the earth, experience the breathtaking beauty of this South American region and leave with a new perspective of nature and our need to preserve it.
I lead field trips myself in my work as an ecologist, and I always quietly observe other guides when I’m on a trip. I found David to be particularly patient with visitors who may not be entirely comfortable with immersion in nature. He spends time explaining things to his visitors, and making sure their comforts are attended to. He doesn’t do anything that would scare visitors who are leery of bugs, snakes, and other things people sometimes fear.
He is also good at showing the multi-dimensional aspect of our natural world, from the perspective of aesthetics, spirituality, and ecology, and how all these are woven into the local culture.
I highly recommend David for jungle guidance. And he’s a darn good peacock bass fisherman too! Let him show you dolphins & caiman, birds above & fascinating insects under hand lenses; an infinite variety of plants, and the mighty river itself. The Amazon is amazing, and you need to see it through the eyes of one who knows it well."

"When we arrived in Iquitos, from the moment we got off the plane, we were bombarded by jungle trip options that became a little overwhelming. Thankfully, we met David Rios and had an incredible experience, not only in the jungle, but amongst a community of amazing people. The canoe rides at night were breathtaking, and David's expertise and guidance allowed us to see the true jungle. The pink dolphins were incredible and Marina's cooking was unbelievable. We definitely recommend David for a true Amazon experience. Thank you!"

"We are really pleased we chose David Rios over the other jungle tours!!! We stayed in a beautiful area and slept in a rustic base house enabling us to meet some very friendly locals. David was very knowledgeable, helpful and looked after us so well. The nearby creeks we canoed on are stunning, brilliant jungle walks, alligator watching, fishing, etc. David was able to deliver a friendly and professional service and we planned our days, walks, etc. together leaving some time to relax around the base hut. The food is also very tasty. Overall, a really good memorable trip. We would definitely recommend it (also brilliant -- no other tour groups around!). Thank you David!"

"We have just spent 5 days in the jungle based at a casita rustica with David Rios and enjoyed the experience tremendously. David as our guide brought three special qualities, that made the trip memorable. Firstly, his command of the English language allowed us to understand fully the culture and environment we were being immersed in. Secondly, David has great knowledge of the flora and fauna and identifies plants, lots of different bird species, including "Hoatzin", and insects that we see on our trip. Thirdly, is the pleasant disposition and relaxed atmosphere which David has created that allows you to feel at home but does not deny you the sense of adventure. We shall recommend David to the South American Handbook and to our friends as well. Million Thanks!"

"What a wonderful way for us to spend the last 4 days of our 3 month South American adventure. David is the most wonderful guide, always attentive and genuinely enthusiastic about showing us around. Staying with the local native community was a real treat and basically deciding collaborative in what we were going to do. To all those reading this -- your search for the perfect jungle experience is over! David Rios is your man. A gentle soul and good priced trip. We will highly recommend David to all the travel books. We too shall send you photographs, thanks!"

“We will consider our 5 days spent with David in the village of Bello Horizonte one of the highlights of a 5 month trip through South America. David’s approach to life and visitors is sincere, generous, and gentle. We were looking for a personalized tour of the area that would provide the most genuine experience of the peoples and wildlife as possible. This exactly what we got, and a trip originally intended to last 3 nights lasted 4 instead. David was attentive to our needs and desires, he was always enthusiastic about the day trips we took and always willing to have our input to plan the next day. His love of the forest and its people is apparent in everything he does from the friends and companions he keeps to the creeks and trials he shares with you. We had the pleasure of staying with a friendly staff and visited local families in a welcoming village which we enjoyed thoroughly. David is a responsible, gentle, knowledgeable guide who we would highly recommend to everyone.”
